Our Special Places

This morning we examined a poem by Emily Dickinson. We discussed why we enjoy writing poetry - Connor said it gives him the opportunity to express himself, Isla said it is a chance to be you and write for you, these statements are inspiring to us as teachers.

Sienna
Sitting on a cloud
I fall through
Serene.

The trees envelope all light
Still falling
Through earth.

I arrive at my destination
Untouched flowers stand tall
Follow me.

Kayden
There is another dimension
A place that brings you happiness
A place that feels like home.

There is another place
Where the green grass flows through the wind
A place with no rules
A place that's calm
A place that will never change.

Leon
There is another dimension
Where blossom petals fall upon your soul
Grating you good luck.

There is another place you go to
Where your loved ones lie
Hugging you forever on.

There is another land
Where your secrets are safe
While you lie then upon your destination.

Jack
There is another land
Where the sky is always blue
And the rabbits hop freely through the grass.

As the moon rises and the sun falls
You snuggles up in the warmth of your bed
Never wanting to get up.

There is another place
Where danger lurks
Where a calm feeling is just another mirage on the horizon.
Fear daunts us nowhere near home.

As we drift through an endless maze of struggles.

There is another place
Where everlasting dreams reach out
And take hold of your mind.

There is another moon
That crowns you with serenity
Creating peace amongst others.

There is another ocean
That carries you away
To another realm
With the secrets of the future.

Harvey
There is another star
Where serenity is not interrupted
And stress is lost
And peacefulness occurs.

There is another forest
A light beam will engulf you and your forlorness
This forest is calm
Sadness cowers as peacefulness devours you.

There is another meadow
Where rest eddies around you
To rising and falling sun
Then darkness and the sound of silence.

Kuhu
There is another world
Where happiness comes to mind
And you are not afraid to enter
Everything is serene.

There is another place
Where dreams come true
And warmth goes in your heart
Everyone forgets about darkness.

There is another realm
Where everything is peaceful
And you relax every minute of your life
Peaceful comes from every medicine.

Grace
There is a place like no place on earth
A land full of wonder, mystery and danger
Somewhere you forget your troubles.

There is a place like no place on earth
A land full of sunshine and daisies
Somewhere you're wrapped in a cocoon of serenity.

There is a place like no place on earth
A land full of birds that take you places
Somewhere the evergreen trees sing.

There is a place like no place on earth

Arthur
There is another place
Where darkness and fear rule
Where the frozen forests perish in its presence.

There is another realm
Where the trees have no leaves
The rabbits being the only sign of happiness
Still they cannot withstand it.

There is another dimension
With not a spot of happiness
For it has arrived.

Your fears.

Freddie
There is another realm
That you know is not a mirage
Where pain is banished and liberty is yours
You choose whether to stay or leave
One option is not wrong, but secretive.

When sadness arrives your realm envelopes you
Before this earth makes a wrong move
Serenity all around but noise is near.

An abyss, not dark, but welcoming,
Inviting you to your own happy place.

Danica
As happiness rises
Like the sun
Where the grass is soft
And the flowers grow brighter.

For what you believe in
All comes true
Where a blanket of stars
Tuck you into bed.

Where when you're asleep
Serene warm dreams
Comfort you all night long
For when you're awake.

You are fresh.
