Thank you

This morning we had a gratitude circle in our class and were humbled by the many moving statements from our students about what they are proud of in themselves and who has impressed them. There were many tears, there was brutal honesty, and we realise how fortunate we have been to have played a part in the education of these children.

Thank you for trusting us with your children, please look after each other over the summer break.

Arthur's Passive Eco House

This morning we were fortunate enough to be invited to visit Arthur's brand new passive eco house.

This home has thought of using solar power, recycling water, using local products, planting native tress, living near a bus stop so car use in minimised, using insulation made from recycled fishing nets and plastic bottles, using carpet squares, sensor windows that open when it is warm and close when it is wet.  Arthur's family wants to ensure their carbon footprint is as small as possible.

Thank you Arthur, Tom and family for welcoming us into your new home, we are in awe!!

STEM Activities

This morning we introduced STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

There were a range of challenges including creating the tallest and strongest Christmas tree. We were then challenged to create decorations from classroom objects.

We were then challenged to create a reindeer from sticks to stand next to our Christmas trees.

The final creations were judged by Miss Perry

A parachute for Santa was also created by each team. A tally was kept of all the challenges' points to find our winners.
We strongly believe that learning should be fun - what a great morning!!
