Isla
Leaves fall slowly to the ground,
Trapped in an endless maze,
They are only found,
By the voice of the wind.
The vibrant colours,
Are the kind you choose to see.
As a silent orchestra plays,
Spreading joy further than the branches can reach.
Across the kingdom he sees,
The light has left,
Slowly frost catches up,
Thoughts turn to the horizon...
With one request.
Ezra
As Autumn lays its blanket upon the damp ground
The tree's icy fingertips tickle the dark sky.
Children's playful screams echo through the dark forest
The cold sweet morning air freezes my toes.
At dawn the forest turns inanimate
As if someone had suddenly drained the colour from it
The faint colours of the forest surround me.
Anika
The wind brushes its hair
Colourful leaves drop to the ground
In the first light of dawn.
Happy laughter can be heard
Colours fly through the air.
The ground crunches under heavy boots
Bright white frost touches its fingers and toes
As the dewy grass grows.
Then it sways in the wind
As the last leaves float gracefully
To the ground.
Sitara
A carpet of burning colours form
Leaves eddy to the ground
Covering summer's coat with burnt colours
A wave of happiness erupts.
Children shouting when the happy leaves hit them
Laughter fills the air
As playful children jump around
Dancing trees sway through the air.
The sound of crunching leaves under laughing feet
Echoes into the sky
As the leaves conquer the children
And win the war.
Jack
As the leaves eddy down forming a multi-coloured blanket on the damp ground
The trees rustle taking over the birds' majestic song
The voices of the children's screams awaken the trees from their peaceful slumber
The laughter of children brings joy to the big oak as kids run round it
Leaves fly out from all directions
But all land in the face of the teacer
Happiness is what makes mother nature stronger.
I really love Isla's poem because of her beautiful uses of langue and leaveing an open ending. :)
